We got some good news today. I emailed our adoption agency today to find out the status of our case. I was informed our "previos" (paperwork errors) have been corrected. YEAH!!! Our case is almost registered with the Central Authority.
Now that Central Authority issue, that I briefly touched on in my prior posts, comes into play. The Central Authority has been recently created because of the new adoption laws that went in to effect the first of the year in Guatemala.
First, our attorney submits a form to register us with the Central Authority (CNA) in Guatemala. Our adoption agency informed me today that our attorney did submit this registration form to the CNA. The next step is the CNA reviews the registration form and issues what they call a constancia. Technically, our case is not registered until a constancia is issued. It is a confirmation of the registration.
So, what is next? Once we receive a constancia, we will be completely registered with the CNA and we should be able to get re-submitted to PGN. Hopefully, this will be very soon.
We will keep you updated!!!!
